I brought a $350 pair of Tiffany sunglasses to them so they could put my prescription in them. I was told 2 weeks they'd be ready. It took 3 weeks and then they were wrong and the lab didn't send my demo back like I asked. So they send them back to the lab to try again to get them right. I was told they were there for me to pick up today by 2 different people, and when I get there to pick them up, my glasses weren't there. I do understand they're trying to fix the problem and give me what I paid for, but was offered nothing for the inconvenience. I will never do business here again.
I am currently in the process of getting contacts. I am having trouble getting the vision that I want. After my first set of trials I told Dr. Bowman that I thought it could be a little better up close and distance. She gave me another prescription. In the office it seemed like this did the trick. However, as soon as I left, I could tell they were not going to work for distance. I called the next day and spoke with Dr. Bowman. I suggested that they give me a couple of different strength lenses to try on my own in order to come up with the right combination to give me the best vision. They had no problem doing that. Why the 4 and not 5? The assistant that did my prescreen at the Blanding office (not sure if that is what it is called), talked sooooo fast. Gave me the impression that he was more concerned about getting done with me rather than making sure I understood everything that was being done. So far, I have dealt with Dr. Hoffman a couple of years ago when I got glasses and now Dr. Bowman with my contacts. Both have been very thorough and took plenty of time with me.
I will NOT be going back. I've been wearing contact lenses for 25 years and I've never been treated this way by a physician's office. I had my yearly exam and the doctor wanted me to try a newer brand. I agreed as long as it was covered by my insurance as I had no cash. She wrote the prescription but only for Ultra brand specifically ( I did not know she did this at the time). The staff verified with my insurance company that the contacts were covered by my insurance. I've been calling all week to order my contacts. I've gotten no return calls and I have been following up daily. Today, they tell me there is a balance from that purchase because my insurance came back ,after I picked them up, and didn't cover the contact lenses. So, they will not allow me to order more contacts until a balance is paid of $ 70.00. I spoke with the office manager Melanie and she informed me " we can't order you more contact lenses with an outstanding balance. I suggest you talk with your insurance company". I told her it's not right that I am responsible for this when I specifically said I did not want these contact lenses if my insurance company does not pay. There's a hole in their process of verification. There's a system break down somewhere and the patient's are paying for it. At the very least, if this is an issue ( I can't believe that I would be the only person having this problem) then there should be some form of tracking done by the office so that patients are made aware that the insurance company might not pay a portion. Instead, they do the initial authorization and tell you everything is approved. The office manager hung up on me when I asked for her supervisor's information. I called back and she wouldn't talk to me. If you order contact lenses at this office, check with your insurance company first with the specific brand because this office will screw you over with no remorse. Now I owe money AND I can't get my prescription or contact lenses. My advice is to only go to an eye doctor who will give you a copy of your prescription (not brand specific - I'm sure there are kickbacks to doing this) and allow you to order contact lenses from anywhere. I hope this will be helpful for future patients.
My first visit to OPEC, was great, I was treated very well and if I was the only patient. The person who help me select my frame and measurement was wonderful. The eye doctor took her time and made sure I was comfortable and she gave a accurate prescription.
I brought my 4 year old daughter in for an eye exam. The staff and doctor were very sweet and patient with her, as we can all imagine, a 4 year old is not always the ideal patient, but they handled it very well. There wasn't a long wait time, and as someone who has never worn glasses and had virtually no experience, they were patient with me too, lol. And they had a really great selection of frames. Highly recommend!
