You really don't have many choices when it comes to bowling so having this nearby is nice it's in a good location a little pricey but then again it's well worth the money spent
For an bowling alley that has been around for many years, this one has been up kept very well. The lanes here are in very good shape and travel pretty good. Now the downside, most everything in this alley is very outdate, including the scoring equipment which is still using small CRT monitors and does not have automatic bumpers for families with small children. Prices for food and other amenities are not cheep and add up very quickly. Finally, the ambiance is again outdated and leaves alot to be desired. Once you walk in, it feels like you stepped into the 1990's. I give Bowl America three stars only because their lanes have been well maintained. All in all, if you are looking for a good place to bowl, there are better choices but this one does have decent lanes.
Personally, this is the perfect location to have this facility considering the neighborhoods surrounding it. It promotes fun! It invites any and all types of people to take part in the fun! I've been bowling here since I moved to OP 16, almost 17 years ago. Nowadays I bring my 6 year old son and we have a blast! There's a few items that are noticeably out of date, and/or broken down. I wish all of us here, (those of us who grew up here but moved away), in the Clay County/Bellair/Lakeside, could come together, promoting and fundraising the funds to fix and replace the items needed to make this place beautiful once again.
Bowling is way more expensive than I remembered. $15.00 for 2 games and shoes. I guess everything goes up. With the money they charge they should do some remodeling. It's very old looking inside. All that aside we had a blast bowling.
